How to open it
On the Create composer, open the + menu and choose Ask. An Ask chip appears next to the + button, and the composer switches to asking rather than designing. Ask is sticky, because a good question is rarely a single turn — keep asking follow-ups, then dismiss the chip (×) to go back to designing. Starting a new chat clears it too. It’s available in both composers: the one on your empty home page and the one beside an active conversation. Start a question before you’ve made anything and Ask stays on once the chat opens. What you can ask
Anything a working jeweler deals with:
Answers lead with the answer — a range, a number, a verdict — then the reasoning worth knowing. Ask about something outside jewelry and it steers back.
It can see your design
The design on your canvas is sent with every question, along with any influence references you’ve attached, so you can ask about the specific piece rather than in generalities:- “What stone is this?”
- “Would this setting cast cleanly?”
- “Is the band too thin to size later?”
It answers in your market
Jewelry vocabulary isn’t universal, so Ask reads which trade you work in from your own words — the terms you use, the currency or city you mention, the standards you cite — and answers inside it. Write tunch, bhav, 916, BIS or mangalsutra and you get Indian framing: purity in 916/750, weight in grams and tola, making charges and wastage as the trade states them. Write ujra or price in AED and you get Gulf conventions, where 21K and 22K are the norm. Ayar gets Türkiye, baht gold gets Thailand, sovereign and assay office get the UK. There’s no setting for this and nothing is stored — it’s re-read from each conversation, so switching markets mid-chat just works.Ask never changes your design
Ask can look at your design, but it cannot generate, edit, or replace it. A question can never cost you the piece you’re working on, and Ask can’t pull in stray context from past conversations to alter it. To make a change, dismiss the Ask chip and describe it in the composer, or use Select & edit to change one area. The quality tier and aspect-ratio pickers hide while Ask is on, for the same reason — a question doesn’t render anything.Credits
An answer costs 1 credit. If an answer fails, or you stop it partway, the credit is refunded.Ask turns aren’t saved to your design conversation. They stay in the chat while you work, but they won’t be there after a reload — copy anything you want to keep.
