Turn 2D jewelry designs into manufacturing-ready 3D CAD models. Draft Studio converts images into detailed, textured meshes with CAD dimensions and weight estimates, in standard export formats.

Overview

  • Image-to-3D conversion using multiple AI providers
  • Quality tiers for previews through production
  • CAD dimensions and metal weight estimates
  • Stoneless mode for metal-only models
  • Exports in GLB, FBX, OBJ, and USDZ

Accessing Draft Studio

Open Draft Studio from the dashboard sidebar, or from the Gallery select a design and click Generate 3D Model.

How it works

1. Upload your design

Use AI-generated designs, photos of existing pieces, or rendered concepts. Clear, well-lit images with clean backgrounds at high resolution (1024px+) work best. Multiple angles help.

2. AI analysis

AI analyzes your design with Qwen 2.5 VL 72B to identify the jewelry type, gemstones, settings, and metal components, then plans the 3D reconstruction.

3. Choose a generation mode

  • Full Design — complete model with all gemstones and settings. Best for visualization and prototyping.
  • Stoneless / Mounting — metal structure only, with gemstones removed. Ideal for CAD manufacturing, so jewelers can set stones manually.

4. Select a quality tier

  • Standard — 100,000 polygons, 4K textures. Fast; good for previews and concepts.
  • High — 150,000 polygons with mesh refinement. Suitable for most manufacturing.
  • Production — 200,000 polygons, maximum detail. Best for final production files.

5. Generate and download

Get your 3D model with export options, computed dimensions, and weight estimates, ready for jewelers.

Generation providers

  • Trellis (Fast) — fastest generation and lowest credit cost. Best for quick previews.
  • Meshy v6 (Recommended) — best quality/speed balance with accurate textures.
  • Meshy v5 Multi-View — uses Zero123++ for multi-view synthesis. Highest accuracy for complex, intricate pieces.

CAD dimensions and weight

Draft Studio computes:
  • Bounding box: width, height, and depth, in millimeters.
  • Volume and surface area: used for material calculations.
  • Metal weight estimates by alloy, using typical casting density:
    • 14K and 18K gold (yellow, white, or rose)
    • 22K gold (traditional yellow)
    • Platinum 950
    • Sterling silver 925

Your measurements

Provide real specifications for accurate scaling:
  • Ring: size (US, UK, or EU) and band width (mm)
  • Chain / necklace: length (inches or cm) and width (mm)
  • Center stone: carat weight

Export formats

  • GLB (recommended) — binary glTF with embedded textures. Compact, widely compatible, best for sharing and web viewing.
  • FBX — Autodesk interchange format. Strong CAD support, animation-ready.
  • OBJ — universal format with separate texture files (MTL). Widest legacy compatibility.
  • USDZ — Apple’s AR format. View in AR on iOS; great for client presentations.

Credit usage

Costs vary by quality tier and provider: Trellis costs the least, Meshy v5 Multi-View the most. Credit costs are shown before generation.

Tips for best results

  • Image quality: high resolution (2048px+), sharp, well lit, no blur or noise.
  • Multiple angles: front, side, top, and angled views improve accuracy.
  • Clean backgrounds: white or neutral, isolated piece, consistent lighting.
  • Accurate measurements: provide real ring sizes, stone carats, band widths, and chain lengths.

Troubleshooting

  • Model doesn’t match design: use higher-quality source images, a higher tier, or a different provider, and ensure a clean background.
  • Details missing: increase to the Production tier, try Meshy v5 Multi-View, or upload higher-resolution images and multiple angles.
  • Weight looks off: verify dimensions and metal type; estimates are approximate and assume typical construction.
  • Export won’t open: try another format (GLB has the widest support) or update your 3D software.
  • Create — design and refine through conversation
  • Imagine — synthesize reference images
  • Video — create presentation videos
  • Gallery — organize your 3D models
