# Prompt Guide
> How to write prompts for Tashvi AI's jewelry design studio: describe the piece, metal, gemstone, cut, setting, and style in plain language, lead with what matters, and refine one change at a time.
A prompt is just you describing the piece you want, the way you'd brief a bench jeweler. Tashvi AI turns that description into a photorealistic design on [Create](/features/create). The clearer the brief, the closer the first result — and this guide shows you how to write one.
**The one rule that matters:** Create builds from what you say and doesn't invent the details you leave out. If you don't name the metal, the stone, or the setting, the studio fills them in on its own — and they can change from one generation to the next. So spell out anything you care about, and leave open only what you're happy to let it decide.
## Anatomy of a strong prompt
Describe your piece the way you'd describe it out loud, then layer on detail. A complete brief usually covers six things.

You don't need all six every time — but the more of them you nail down, the more the result is *yours* rather than the studio's guess.
### From vague to strong
Watch a prompt sharpen as detail gets added:

## Five habits of good prompts
Natural, descriptive prose works best. "A polished 18k rose gold band holding an oval sapphire in a bezel setting" beats "rose gold, oval, sapphire, bezel."
Put the hero first — "diamond eternity band" — then work outward to metal, stones, and finish. What comes first gets the most weight.
Describe the design positively. Instead of "no gemstones," write "a plain, unadorned polished band." Instead of "not chunky," write "a slim, delicate band."
Photography cues sharpen the render: "soft studio lighting, macro close-up, sharp focus on the facets, clean white background." Lighting has the single biggest effect on how real a piece looks.
Adding an engraving or monogram? Put the exact words in quotes — an engraving reading "Forever" — so they're rendered as text, not decoration.
## Refine one change at a time
Your first message creates the design. Every message after it *edits* the current design — no re-uploading, no starting over. This is where most of the good work happens, so [refine through conversation](/features/create/conversational-editing).
**Settled details carry forward.** Once a metal, stone, or style is established, you don't repeat it — just name what changes:

**Describe the end result, not just the action.** "Make the center stone about 2 carats" lands more reliably than "make it bigger." "The band should be twice as thick" beats "thicker." Telling the studio the target state gives it something concrete to render.
**Change one thing per message** so you can see exactly what each edit did — and roll back easily if it's not right.
**Edit a specific area with Select & edit.** Circle a region on the canvas and describe the change, and only that area is touched. Adding something new? Circle the spot *plus* a little surrounding room so there's space for it.

## Match your prompt to the quality tier
Each message runs at the [quality tier](/features/create/quality-tiers) you pick, and they reward slightly different prompting.
* **Low (5 credits) — explore fast.** Low expands your description into a full render and fills in neutral studio presentation for you, so keep the essentials clear — piece, metal, stone, setting — and it handles the polish.
* **High & Max (10 / 15 credits, Pro) — get precise.** These follow your exact wording and hold fine detail well, so spell out what you want (including lighting and background if you have a preference), then refine one detail at a time toward a presentation-ready render.
## Show it, don't just say it
When words run out, [attach reference images](/features/create/reference-images) alongside your prompt — for a style, a specific element like a clasp or stone arrangement, or a material finish. Say what each one is for ("use this setting," "match this finish"), and the reference *adds* to your design rather than resetting what's already settled.
## Troubleshooting
* **The result doesn't match what you asked for.** Be more specific, add a reference image, edit incrementally instead of all at once, or move up a quality tier.
* **A change didn't take.** If an edit can't be applied cleanly, Create keeps your design exactly as it was and doesn't charge you for the turn. Try describing the end result ("the band should be twice as thick") or use **Select & edit** to circle the exact part.
