# Purchasing

> Receive a supplier delivery in Tashvi One: record what each piece cost, spread freight and duty across the delivery, and book everything into stock in one step.

**Purchasing** is where supplier deliveries arrive. Receiving a delivery books the pieces into stock already costed, so your stock value is right from the day they land.

## Receive a delivery

Choose **Receive delivery** on **Purchasing**, or **Add → Receive delivery**.

    Choose a supplier or manufacturer, or add a **New supplier**. Then choose the location the delivery goes **Into**.

  <Step title="Add each line">
    Pick the product and the number of pieces, and enter **Cost each**. Add the total weight and stone carats if you have them. If the supplier already numbered the pieces, tick **The supplier numbered these pieces** and enter their numbers.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Add the charges">
    Enter freight, customs duty, and other charges. Tashvi One spreads them across the lines by what each line cost, or by weight, and shows the landed total.

  <Step title="Book it in">
    Add the supplier's invoice number and a note if you like, then press **Book it in**.

  A delivery can't be undone once it's booked in, so check the lines before you press **Book it in**.

## Costs matter

**Cost each** is required on every line. Tashvi One asks you to confirm before booking anything in at zero, because a piece with no cost understates your stock value and overstates the margin when it sells.
